Why the Rewards?

In order to get the most out of your workouts, you need some motivation. So, in order to give you that extra push, Fit and Flair with Mer uses proven strategies to enhance the efficacy of your program. EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION

Staying on a fitness plan isn't easy and sometimes everyone needs a little bit of extra motivation. There are two types, extrinsic (external), and intrinsic (internal). I use the reward system as an extrinsic motivator and the development of your goals as the intrinsic. It takes a combination of both to keep a person on track. So, I provide the extrinsic, you provide the intrinsic, and you are on your way to success!

GOAL SETTING

You should never feel like you are working out because you have to, it shouldn't be arbitrary. There needs to be a reason for all the sweat, which is why you will set concrete goals. The milestone goals allow you to keep experiencing success while helping breaking up the big goal into manageable pieces. Also, if you are working towards something, you are more likely to keep working, even if you reach a bump in the road. 

POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT

One of the best ways to increase the occurrence of a desired behaviour is to give someone something they want (which is the very definition of positive reinforcement). This is why I reward you for your hard work. I want you to keep wanting to work hard, so I let you know when you have done a good job, in the form of money towards your big reward. Who doesn't want that?
